Hiatus Over...

I took a long break from blogging, but am back at it!
I just wanted to take a few minutes to share some projects I have been working on recently.
There have been several swaps I have wanted to join FOREVER.  Recently, I participated in the tag swap at Stephanie's blog Here.  I am so excited to see which tags I receive!

My friend Michelle suggested going to this forum and join a tag swap.  So, I did!  I made the following tag for the swap (sorry for the picture quality - bad layout!):

This is the front view:                                       Back:
I started with a 3 3/4" x 6 1/4" shipping tag and embellished it with the following:
Paper:  Le Romantique by Graphic 45 collection (front) and the Making Memories Ledger paper pad (back)
The tag was spritzed with Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist and inked with distress ink in Tattered Rose.  The flower on the front of the tag is from I Am Roses.  Love...Love...Love the flowers Bunma carries.  Fantastic!  The rose was Misted with Tea Rose and Wheatfields.  A lace doiley was created with paper and lace to ge behind the rose.  Addes some guinnea feathers and an Adage ticket from Tim Holtz.  There is a vintage photo I found online as well as some Diamond Dust, a doiley, pearl trim and more baby roses.  The back of the tag was simple and I just created a pocket using one of the small Celebrate It bags from Michael's, it measures 2 1/4" x 4".  I stamped it with an Inkadinkado damask stamp and added another feather and flommer misted two Prima flowers with Vintage Pink and Creme de Chocolate Glimmer Mists.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you have a fantastic day and I'll look forward to sharing more with you in the future!

Dominoes...they aren't just for kids!

I'm on a mission to complete Christmas gifts using my abundant stash of crafting supplies. We are trying to save money this year, thus all of my gifts will be homemade. I came across this great tutorial for stamping on dominoes at:http://dawnsstampingthoughts.typepad.com/dawns_stamping_thoughts/2008/05/dominos-are-not.html

My plan is to give these in sets of four in a homemade box tied with ribbon.
Happy Crafting!!

Rainy Saturday...

I guess it is official...the rainy season has begun! A good day to make some craft projects and watch Rocky Balboa (crafts and boxing...nice combination!).

Splitcoast Stampers has a great tutorial for making a bag in a box. I decided to give it a shot and this is what I came up with using some random patterned paper and cardstock out of my scrap box. It stands about 6" high and is 3 1/2" across the bottom. This will be great stuffed with candy, a gift card or some other goodies. I'm sure I'll be making it for Christmas gifts.

I also made a mini pizza box using my Scor Pal. That is the best tool EVER (now that I know how to use it - LOL!!) Hopefully I'll be able to embellish it tomorrow and post some pictures then.

Have a blessed evening!!

Long Break...

Wow...it has been a long time since I posted! Life has been busy with the boys starting Jr. High, football season and other assorted family activities.

I took a cake decorating class and really enjoyed learning how to make a cake look fancy :)
My husband asked me to make a cake for a co-worker. Since I'm such a nice wife, I agreed to make cupcakes. These are the cupcakes. My first try at fancy cupcakes. I think they turned out good for my first try. The frosting was very soft and hard to work with, but all-in-all they are fun and edible (the most important thing!).

Yesterday I held a card workshop and we made some great Christmas cards. I really enjoy getting together with other ladies and crafting. Such fun fellowship time!

Here are a couple of the cards we made using the Evensong Christmas paper from Close To My Heart. Also, a fun elf card using some embossed cardstock. I've been using my Cuttlebug lately and really enjoy the dimension embossing gives a card.

Until next time...happy craftin'!

Summer Weekend

We had the best weekend! Saturday we spent time at the Farmer's Market, went out to breakfast and then headed to the store to do some shopping. I bought the most fabulous berries (marrionberries, boysenberries and raspberries) as well as fresh green beans. Love green beans!! The berries were just screaming to be made into a pie. Yes, I forgot to flute the edges of my pie crust before baking. Oops...oh well, it didn't hurt the taste in the least and just added a rustic feel :)

I am teaching a mini album class on Saturday at my church. This is me getting ready. Pretty exciting!

This is the project we will be making. It is a mini album using Close To My Heart's true fit folios, paper and ink. I used the Life Delights paper pack for this. Love the pinks and chocolates. Yummy! Each section, except the front, has a pocket with a card insert. Such a fun project. These instructions came from a fellow CTMH consultant, Kelly E.-T. You can do so many fun things with this. I'm really looking forward to teaching this!

My BFF came over to visit me Saturday. She has been knitting a shawl and finished it up Saturday. She also took pictures of my pie and me. In exactly that order :) Her pictures are way better than mine, which is why I cannot put a picture of the shawl on here as I took the shawl picture. Sorry friend!! But, this is us at Starbucks goofin' around...

My son and I went swimming at the local pool. Did I mention I hate 'suiting up'? Need to find the perfect suit. I'm on a mission...

Sunday we traveled to Portland to see a baseball game at PGE park. It was super hot and lots of fun!
Cody and I:

Unfortunately, the home team lost :(

All in all, it was a great weekend spent with the ones I love most.

Today was another work day. I do have to say weekends are not long enough - we should have madatory three-day weekends...a girl can dream, can't she?

Have a blessed evening!

Wow...I finally made the leap...

I finally decided to step out and create a blog. It will be exciting to share the fun and exciting crafty projects I create.

I'll start with a card I made this week using Close To My Heart stamping supplies. Love the color combination and stamp set. This is a "window pane" card from the CTMH Originals card program (love those!).
Colors: Hollyhock, Sweetleaf, Chocolate and Colonial White
Ink: Sweetleaf, Terracotta, Hollyhock
Embellies: Twine, twill, chocolate ribbon and some sparkle.
I used my Cuttlebug 'swiss dot' embossing folder for the background. Love my Cuttlebug!!!
Thanks for stopping by...until next time....
